7 Practices of a Highly Effective Christian

Practice #5: Focus

Concentrated effort or focus on a particular things

First Things First: But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

- Matthew 6:33

Simplify: "Everything is permissible"-but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"-but not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.

- 1 Corinthians 10:23-24

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

- Hebrews 12:1-3

Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law.

- Proverbs 29:18a
