Ryan grew up in Tempe, AZ, and Janet in Santa Cruz, CA.  Ryan and Janet both attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Ryan majored in Business Management while Janet majored in Physcology.

Ryan and Janet met in the fall of 1998 at a friends wedding.  In the spring of 1999 they both joined the staff of Faith Christian Church in Tucson, AZ as campus ministers on the University of Arizona.  For the next 2.5 years they got to know each other and fell in Love, and on Dec 21st of 2001 they were engaged, and then were married in March of 2002.  They spent 2 more years in ministry at the U of A, and in August of 2004 were sent out with a group of others to help start a church at Arizona State University.  After serving 3 years as Associate Pastors, they felt that God was calling them to move into something new.

In July of 2007 they met with Mike Gowans and Todd McIntyre.  They were very moved by the mission, and calling of Gateway Life Church, and felt God calling them to join.  They joined the staff in August of 2007.

Ryan and Janet believe that this next generation needs true relationship with Jesus and each other in the Church.  The college campus, and young professional world is were crucial decisions are being made every day.  Over the years they have ministered on the University of Arizona, Arizona State University campuses in a full-time capacity.  They have also lead or been part of outreach trips to reach San Diego State University, Grossmont College, University of San Diego, Mesa College, Cal State Northridge, University of Virginia, Northern Arizona University, as well as campuses in Paris, France, and Antwerp, Belgium.
