Eric was born in Reno, NV and grew up in Sacramento, CA and in High School moved to Fargo, ND.  Eric attended college at Minnesota State University in Moorhead, MN where he studied Music Business and Recording.  While in college Eric played Viola in the local symphony and played Guitar in the worship band at his church.  He interned at a local TV station doing production and eventually moved into the news department where he directed newscasts and a weekly sportscast.  While finishing college he met Misty and they were married in September of 2000.  After graduating college, they moved to Nashville where Misty taught and Eric went to work for a touring audio company.

After 6 months living in Nashville Eric went to work for the Trinity Broadcasting Network as the Engineer in Charge at their Nashville studio.  Also at this time, Eric and Misty began attending Bethel World Outreach Center in Brentwood, TN where they met Pastor Mike.  They served in his youth group until Mike moved to Phoenix the following spring.  While at Bethel, Eric and Misty helped with worship and college worship.  In 2004 they moved to the north side of town to help plant a church in Clarksville, TN and Eric helped with media and worship there.

In the spring of 2006, Eric was traveling with the Nashville Predators hockey team doing television production for FSN when the team made a stop to play the Phoenix Coyotes.  Eric reconnected with Pastor Mike and he began to feel the pulling of God to move to Phoenix.  In the summer the family came out to visit and in November of 2006, Eric and his family moved to Phoenix to help plant Gateway Life in Chandler.

Eric currently manages the website and media operations of Gateway Life Church, plays guitar in the worship band as well as working freelance doing instant replay for sports ranging from Auto Racing on ESPN to Hockey on FSN.  His daughter Chrissy lives with her mom in Sioux Falls and he lives in Gilbert, AZ with his wife Misty, and their children Ben and Amie.
